Fertile Ground: East/West Sustainability Network

Promoting and supporting sustainable agricultural practices in northeast India

Fertile Ground works directly with farmers, tea growers, educators and self-help groups from the state of Assam in northeast India.

We believe that farmers, producers, consumers and the environment all benefit by the sharing of knowledge from the east and from the west - and our philosophy and our practices incorporate an approach that is both scientific and traditional.

Through our projects in Assam, we offer education, empowerment and employment to people from all walks of life who are interested in sustainable food production.

We're keenly interested in facilitating the exchange of knowledge between farmers and growers on the west coast of Canada and the organizations and individual farmers we work with in Assam.
